1. Our commitment

Verly (developed by Problaq consulting) exists to help people meet with intention — real people, thoughtful connections. Trust and safety are core to that mission. These Community and Safety Guidelines set the standard of behaviour we expect from every member, and explain how we help keep the community safe.

Child Safety & CSAE Prevention Standards

Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE / CSAM)

Verly and Problaq consulting maintain an absolute zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Verly is strictly an 18+ application.

To protect children and comply with global safety standards, Verly enforces the following rules:

  • Age Requirement: Verly is strictly restricted to adults aged 18 and older. Any account created by or on behalf of a minor under 18 will be permanently banned immediately.
  • Prohibition of CSAE/CSAM: Any creation, sharing, upload, transmission, or solicitation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), grooming behavior, or any form of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSAE) is strictly prohibited.
  • Immediate Reporting & Legal Action: Any instance or suspicion of CSAE/CSAM will result in an immediate permanent ban, content removal, and mandatory reporting to relevant law enforcement agencies and global child safety organizations (such as NCMEC and SAPS).
  • Reporting Mechanism: Members can report suspicious accounts directly in-app or via email to info@verly.co.za. All reports concerning child safety are handled with urgent priority.

2. Be real

Authenticity is at the heart of Verly. All members are expected to:

  • Use recent, genuine photos of themselves — no stock images, celebrity photos, or images of someone else.
  • Provide accurate information about their age, and represent their intentions honestly.

Using another person’s photos or operating deceptive accounts may result in removal from Verly. Verly does not guarantee a member’s identity or perform criminal background checks.

3. Respectful behaviour

Do

Communicate honestly, respect “no” as a complete answer, and treat every match as a person, not a game.

Don’t

Send unsolicited explicit images, pressure someone for personal information, or continue contact after being asked to stop.

Faith and values rooms welcome sincere discussion. Do not attack, mock, pressure, or discriminate against someone because of their religion, denomination, lack of belief, or spiritual journey.

4. Zero-tolerance violations

The following will result in immediate, permanent suspension of your account:

  • Being under the age of 18.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or incitement to violence.
  • Sharing sexually explicit content involving a minor, or any indication of child exploitation — this will be reported to the relevant authorities without exception.
  • Non-consensual sharing of intimate images (“revenge porn”).
  • Impersonation of another person, including using someone else’s photos.
  • Solicitation of commercial sexual services, escort services, or explicit content for sale.
  • Violence, assault, or credible threats made against another member, on or off the platform.
  • Financial scams, romance fraud, or solicitation of money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency.

5. Scams and financial solicitation

Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or banking details to someone you have met on Verly — especially if you have not met them in person, or they ask you to move the conversation to another app quickly.

Common warning signs of a romance scam include: professing strong feelings very quickly, refusing video calls or in-person meetings, claiming to be stationed abroad (military, offshore work, and similar stories), and eventually asking for money for an “emergency,” travel, or an investment opportunity. If something feels off, trust your instincts and report the profile.

6. Meeting in person safely

Meet in public

Choose a public place for your first few dates, and arrange your own transport to and from.

Tell someone

Share your date’s name, photo, and meeting location/time with a friend or family member.

Video chat first

Consider a video call before meeting in person to help confirm the person matches their profile.

Stay able to leave

Keep your phone charged, know how you are getting home, and do not feel obligated to stay.

Guard personal details

Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, or daily routine until you trust the person.

Trust your gut

If something feels wrong, it is okay to leave, and okay to report the interaction afterward.

7. Reporting and blocking

Discovery profiles and messages in the Sneeky room include clearly labelled Report and Block options. Reporting:

  • Sends the selected profile or message to our safety records for review.
  • Blocking hides that member’s profile and Sneeky messages from you.
  • Sends the report to our Trust and Safety team for review, along with relevant profile and message context.
  • Is confidential — the reported user is not told who reported them.

You can also reach our Trust and Safety team directly at info@verly.co.za.

8. How we respond

We review reports and take action proportionate to the violation, which may include: a warning, temporary suspension, permanent ban, and/or removal of specific content. For safety-critical reports (for example threats, underage users, exploitation), we prioritize immediate review and may take action before completing a full investigation.

9. Law enforcement cooperation

We cooperate with law enforcement where legally required, including in response to valid legal process. We report suspected child exploitation to the relevant authorities as required by law. We are not able to guarantee confidentiality or a specific outcome when a matter is referred to law enforcement, as this depends on the circumstances of each case.

10. In case of emergency

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

In South Africa, you can reach the South African Police Service (SAPS) on 10111, or the emergency number 112 from a mobile phone. If you are outside South Africa, contact your local equivalent.

After ensuring your immediate safety, please also report the incident to us at info@verly.co.za so we can take appropriate action on the account.
